Robin and I at The Prebendal with Paddy and Kerry, our beautiful Irish Wolfhounds 🐾💚 Both dogs were rescue dogs, and Paddy cared deeply for Kerry as she had spondylitis affecting her back leg. 🍎 He would lovingly break off an apple branch from the orchard and drag it to her. When she passed during an operation, Paddy left an apple on her bed waiting for her return… 💔 He refused to eat and became depressed until we found another rescue. As soon as I fed the new dog, he wolfed down his food — I truly believe he would have died of heartbreak otherwise. 🐕❤️ They were very special and loved fruit, they’d even eat plums from the tree by the river and spit out the stones as they walked! 🍑🌳 Now I have a whole row of plum trees, a living memory of them both. 🌸
